Opening Of The New Lakeside Stadium -Sunday 11 December
South Melbourne FC will host NSW Premier League Champions Sydney Olympic in an exhibition match on Sunday 11th December as part of the festivities to launch the refurbished Lakeside Stadium.
This will be the first football match played at Lakeside since the renovations commenced in 2010.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early on to watch all junior levels of the Club playing in mini-matches across the Lakeside Stadium pitch and to take the opportunity to stroll around the stadium's new facilities. The Senior Mens match between South Melbourne FC and Sydney Olympic will kick-off at 5.30pm.

The Lonsdale Street Glendi, the signature event of the Antipodes Festival, attracts over 150,000 people in a single weekend, celebrating and sharing all things Greek with the whole of Melbourne. A free event held in City of Melbourne's Greek Precinct, Lonsdale Street (between Russell and Swanston Streets), the Glendi (= a party; a feast; to gather and have fun), boasts two main stages showcasing 300 performers, local and international acts, children's activities, cooking demonstrations and food stalls.
The Antipodes Festival is the Greek Community of Melbourne's cultural program featuring food, visual and performance art events as well as the celebrated Greek Film Festival.
