The celebration of Feast Day of the “Annunciation of our Lady'

altThe Greek Community of Melbourne’s Holy Church of “The Annunciation of Our Lady”, Victoria’s first Orthodox Church, celebrates its Feast Day on Friday the 25th March. The Feast of the Annunciation of Our Lady also marks a day of national celebration for the people of Greece and the Greek diaspora. It was on March 25, 1821 when Greece officially declared its independence from the Ottoman Empire.

To celebrate the Feast of the Annunciation of Our Lady, the Very Rev Fr Kosmas Damianides, the Church committee and the Board of Directors of the Greek Community wish to invite all the members of the Greek community to the following;

Thursday 24 March – 6:30pm (186 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne)
The Archieratical Great Vespers for the feast of The Holy Annunciation of Our Lady celebrated by His Grace Bishop Ezekiel of Dervis

Friday 25 March – 7:30am (186 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne)
Feast Day of The Holy Annunciation of Our Lady Orthros and Archieratical Divine Liturgy celebrated by His Grace Bishop Iakovos of Miletopoulis

Friday 25 March – 12 noon (Greek Centre, 168 Lonsdale Street)
Luncheon at the Greek Centre, immediately after the Divine Liturgy. The price of the ticket for this event is $50. For those interested in purchasing tickets or for more information please call: 9662-1362 or to ask in person at the church (186 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne).
