How is life to be thought philosophically?

Are there the resources within life that allow it to be thought philosophically? Epicurus thought that there were.

He thought within life itself the categories for the evaluation of life as well the direction life should head were already given.

Philosophy has no need of the Gods. All that matter was life itself.
