The Halkidikeon Association supports the Greek Centre

altA delegation of Board Members of the Halkidikeon Association Aristotelis O Stageritis visited the Greek Centre for Contemporary Culture of the Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM) and presented a cheque for $ 10,000 for the new GCM building.

Vice-President Mr Andrew Ballis and General Secretary Mrs Persephone Mastrogiannis-Gkouletsas met with the GCM president Mr Bill Papastergiadis and General Secretary Mr Costas Markos, who thanked both the Board and the members of the Halkidikeon Association for their generous donation.

In the continuation they toured the premises and were briefed on the activities of the Cultural Center and the GCM.

An announcement about the donation was made last March following the unanimous vote of the members of the Association at its Annual General Meeting early this year.

"It was with pleasure that the Halkidikeon Association Aristotelis O Stageritis presented a donation cheque of $10,000 to the GOCMV at the Sardella Festival held in March 2015.  The decision unanimously voted by the members at the AGM that a donation be made towards the GCM," said General Secretary Mrs Persephone Mastrogiannis-Gkouletsas.
