Description

After many successful performances in festivals across Europe and at the largest Children’s Theatre Festival in Washington DC in 2011, AEROPLIO is coming to Melbourne to perform for the GOCMV Greek Schools, and will also give one public performance on Sunday 20 May. The shows are performed solo by actress Stella Mihail, entertaining students in two different shows, tailored for primary and secondary students.

Of the fire, of the wind and of the road without return
For primary school students

This performance, based on a Greek fairytale, originating from the Dodecanese islands in the Aegean sea, explores the different journeys of three brothers as they set out to find medicine for their father. Each faces different obstacles on his chosen path, dragons, strong winds, rough roads and more. He who succeeds does so with more than just strength, but with his wisdom and cooperation from the audience. Of the fire, of the wine and of the road without return is not just a theatre, but a creative game designed to educate children and enhance their imagination.

Ancient Pathos
For secondary students
This innovative and educational event presents monologues from ancient tragedies Electra, Iphigenia and Antigone. The performance will be followed by a discussion about Ancient Greek tragedies.
