Description

Greece, 2014, 80mins (Drama)

Director Sotiris Tsafoulias

Catching up with Socrates for a coffee.

Set outside the Athens of today, three very different men meet by chance in a coffee shop and the conversation – naturally – turns to their women.

The misogynistic Nick (Vradimiros Kiriakides) is there to meet his girlfriend and take her to task over infidelities he's only just discovered. Jim (Renos Charalambides) is there to make his acquaintance with the parents of his fiancée, while Alexander (Pigmalion Dadakarides) is finally meeting the girl he's been chatting with online for the last four months. Overseeing the conversation and coffee service is the café owner, Mr Plato (Andonis Andoniou), whose daughter is the light of his life.

Exploring differences of perception propagated by the roles we assume in front of others, Common Denominator is a revelatory look into relationships that will more than likely inspire post-screening conversation at a café near you.
