A GCM student publishes a bilingual children's book

altThe book ‘A Holiday in Greece’ by GCM student, Androula Matthews, is a bilingual children’s book (in English and Greek) and can be enjoyed by anyone of any age.

"With this book, I really wanted to encourage Greek families to feel proud of their rich heritage and stay connected to their homeland and as a community, especially during these challenging times," said Androula.

"This book is for all holidaymakers and lovers of Greece. It is a fun and lighthearted guide through a typical summer holiday in Modern Greece and captures the essential elements we may experience.

"This is especially great for beginners learning about Greek culture and language. Whether it is gaining an understanding of Greek tourism and culture or reliving past holiday memories, there is something for everyone to enjoy. During both the lockdowns we have experienced in Melbourne due to COVID-19, I was motivated to create this book with the desire of spreading some joy and hope to those of us that are unable to travel to Greece this year due to restrictions and to help everyone look forward to future travels.

"I hope this book will transport everyone to their very own holiday in Greece - even if it may not be a complete reality during these times."

The book is available for purchase early October, people can sign up at www.eikonesbyandroula.com.au or follow Anroula's instagram page @eikones.by.androula for all updates.
