Greek Writers Festival 2019: A great success

The GCM welcomes the announcement for the Work & Holiday visa

altThe Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM) welcomed the announcements of the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Greece, Terence Quick and the Minister for Immigration of Australia David Coleman, about the implementation of the bilateral agreement for the Working Holiday Visa between Australia and Greece. This visa allows young people to visit each country respectively with the right to work. The reciprocal agreement is set to commence on 1 July 2019.

Modern Greek teaching programs will be reinstated in two public schools

altAfter intense lobbying by the Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM) and the parents of Strathmore Secondary students, the school has decided to reinstate VCE Greek for 2019. The decision was made after a meeting that took place on Monday 11 December at the offices of the School.
