The Ancient Greek Myth in Modern Greek Poetry

O Κ. Π. Καβάφης (1863-1933) έζησε το μεγαλύτερο μέρος της ζωής του και έγραψε σχεδόν όλο του το έργο του στην Αλεξάνδρεια.

Όπως είχε δηλώσει και ο ίδιος, η Ιστορία και η αρχαιομάθεια ήταν από τα προσφιλή πνευματικά του ενδιαφέροντα ήδη από τη νεότητά του.

Αργότερα, διοχέτευσε αυτό το ενδιαφέρον στα ποιήματά του, ειδικά σε όσα έγραψε κατά την περίοδο της ωριμότητας (1911 κ.εξ.).
Πώς ερμηνεύεται αυτός ο ποιητικός «ιστορικισμός»; Είναι αποτέλεσμα αποκλειστικά προσωπικής επιλογής;

Με ποιους όρους και με ποιους τρόπους εκφράζεται η διαπίδυση της Ιστορίας στην ποίησή του; Μήπως, ως ποιητής της διασποράς, στρέφεται προς την Ιστορία, προκειμένου να διατηρηθεί ζωντανή η εθνική συλλογική μνήμη;

Ή μήπως η αναπαράσταση ειδικά του ελληνιστικού παρελθόντος γίνεται ένα μέσον, ένα όχημα, για να τεθούν άλλα ζητήματα;

Ο Μιχάλης Μπακογιάννης γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα (1966) και σπούδασε Ελληνική Φιλολογία στο Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης (Α.Π.Θ.). Αργότερα απέκτησε το Διδακτορικό του στη Φιλολογία. Από το 2011 διδάσκει μαθήματα Νεοελληνικής Φιλολογίας στο Α.Π.Θ. Επίσης, έχει διδάξει μαθήματα νεοελληνικής λογοτεχνίας στα Τμήματα Νεοελληνικών Σπουδών των Πανεπιστημίων της Κύπρου (2008), του Βελιγραδίου (2012), του Άμστερνταμ (2013), της Βιέννης (2015), των Ιωαννίνων (2015) και στο Ελληνικό Ανοιχτό Πανεπιστήμιο από το 2003. Έχει εκδώσει πέντε βιβλία και τα κύρια επιστημονικά ενδιαφέροντά μου αφορούν τη μεταπολεμική ελληνική λογοτεχνία και κριτική, καθώς και τη μελέτη λογοτεχνικών περιοδικών του 19ου και του 20ού αι.

Michail Bakoyiannis was born in Athens (1966) and studied Greek Philology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) where he later obtained his Doctorate in Modern Greek Literature from the School of Philology. He has been teaching Modern Greek Literature at the School of Philology at AUTH since 2011 but has also presented courses in the Departments of Modern Greek Studies at the University of Cyprus (2008), the University of Belgrade (2012), the Universiteit van Amsterdam (2013), the Universität Wien (2015), the University of Ioannina (2015) and the Hellenic Open University since 2003. He has published five books and his main areas of research interest are Modern Greek Literature and Critique, especially post-war, and the Greek literary periodicals of the 19th and 20th century.
