Ancient Greek for Beginners
Unlock the language of Homer and Aristotle
Course Description
This course is suitable for students who wish to acquire the fundamentals of Classical Greek, a world heritage language spoken by the Athenians in the 5th and 4th centuries B.C. and used by the most famous ancient Greek writers, historians, philosophers and orators.
Students will also be introduced to Ancient Greek culture, which formed the basis of western civilisation.
Course Description
Our beginners' course starts from zero using Athenaze Book I, the acclaimed reading-method textbook that teaches Greek through a continuous story rather than dry rules. You'll master the alphabet and pronunciation, then absorb grammar naturally as you follow the everyday life of an Attic farmer and his family. By the end you'll have the core grammar and vocabulary of the first volume and the satisfying experience of reading connected Greek from your very first weeks.
