Betty Coracas is a Cypriot born Australian author, poet, children’s book illustrator and artist who migrated with her family to Melbourne as a child. She lives in Melbourne with her family and travels frequently, collecting material for her writing and painting on location.

Historical novel, ‘Daughter of Venice’ written under the pen name, Donna Raven, was published in 2003. The second edition, with the new title, ‘Caterina – the Last Queen of Cyprus’ was published in 2022 in her own name. World War 2 novel, ‘Alien in Paris’, based on true events, was published in Januuary 2022. The novel was based on a young Australian-French woman’s experience during internment, first at the citadel of Besançon, and for a much longer period at the internment camp of Vittel, France. Fictional novel, ‘Stolen’ was also published in 2022. The contemporary, fast-paced crime thriller was set in Melbourne, Australia, Athens, Greece and Palermo, Sicily. It is a story of illicit love, murder and intrigue. The Author’s latest book to be published in 2022 was her memoir, ‘A Rebel’s Redemption.

Throughout her childhood and teenage years, the Author is forced to adhere to her strict Greek-Cypriot conventions. At the beginning of her 3rd year university, she leaves home with the help of her College Headmistress. The stain of leaving home follows her all the way back to Cyprus where her aunt, who is married to the priest of their village, makes shocking revelations to her. The revelations would drive her to seek redemption.
