The Greek Film Festival, kicks off its 30th anniversary season with the powerful historical drama Kapetan Mihalis (Captain Michael), directed by Kostas Haralambous and based on the novel by Nikos Kazantzakis.
The fiery feature will play on Tuesday 14 October at the Gala Opening at the famed Astor Theatre and at special event screenings at Palace Balwyn Cinema, Palace Cinema Como, and Palace Pentridge Cinema.
The film is set in 1889 Crete; the film tells the story of a Cretan patriot torn between duty and forbidden love. A sweeping tale of freedom, passion, and identity - Kapetan Mihalis is the perfect opening to this landmark celebration of Greek cinema.
