School Year Concludes with Christmas Celebrations at the GCM Schools

The Greek Community of Melbourne Schools concluded the school year with joyful Christmas celebrations across all campuses during the week of 8 – 13 December. 

Teachers, students, and their families participated in the festivities with smiles and a warm festive spirit. They exchanged Christmas cards, gifts, and wishes, shared meals and sweets, sang Christmas carols, and danced traditional Greek dances. 

The Principal of the Greek Community of Melbourne Schools, Ms Maria Bakalidou, said: 

“The Christmas celebrations at our schools were a beautiful reminder of the strength of our community. Through carols, Greek dances, and shared moments of joy, our children came closer to our language, culture, and values and were transported, even if only in spirit, to our homeland. I sincerely thank our teachers, students, and parents for their support and cooperation throughout the school year.” 

The celebrations provided a wonderful opportunity to strengthen bonds within the school community and to highlight Greek tradition and cultural heritage in an atmosphere of joy and collaboration.
