South Melbourne Hellas Have Defeated Mill Park in the Final of the Greek Community Cup

South Melbourne Hellas have defeated Mill Park 2 0 in the final of the Greek Community Cup, in what was a fitting finale to an amazing tournament.

South Melbourne President, Nick Maikousis, was full of praise after the win.“We at South are extremely proud to have been crowned the Inaugural winners of the Greek Community Cup and thank the Greek Community for this wonderful initiative. I would also like to thank Jim Christou, President of Mill Park, for all their efforts in hosting this amazing tournament “.

Bill Papastergiadis OAM- Greek Community President, had this to say during the trophy presentation.“This tournament was all about us as a community engaging amongst one another as well as introducing a lot of the Greek Clubs to the rich Language and Cultural programs of the Greek community. I congratulate South Melbourne on their win and look forward to next year’s tournament”.

Michael Karamitos, Vice President of the Greek Community, congratulated South Melbourne and was full of praise for the host club, Mill Park.“What an amazing 4 weeks of football and I sincerely thank Jim Christou and his entire team for putting on an amazing event. I would like to take this opportunity to announce that next year the Greek Community is looking at expanding the tournament to include a junior boys and girls competition as well as a Men's and Women’s senior tournament.”

In the Shield final, Doncaster Rovers defeated Malvern City 2 0 . Congratulations to Doncaster for their win.
