Coptic Bishop visits the Greek Centre

altOn Monday 29 June, Bishop Suriel of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Victoria visited the Greek Centre for Contemporary Culture of the Greek Community, on a fact finding mission.

The Bishop, accompanied by Latrobe University lecturer Dr Michalis Michael and EEAMA representatives Mr Anthony Kollyvas and Mr Peter Economou, were hosted by the Greek Centre Director, Mr Jorge Menidis who showed them the facility and walked through its programs.

Interest in the Greek Centre by the Bishop evolved from the Coptic Orthodox Church’s own plans to develop its own Centre on the corner of Latrobe & Queen Streets in Melbourne.

The Bishop expressed his admiration of the Greek Community’s vision and endeavour and looked forward to further discussions with the community.
