Board members attended Greek Research conference

altProminent GCM Board members Theo Markos and Nick Dallas travelled to Adelaide to attend the 13th International Conference on Greek Research which was organised by the Australian Center for Greek Language and Culture "LOGOS" of the University of Flinders.

The Conference was impressive in its output with Theo and Nick impressed with the speakers and some of the new educational ideas being promoted.

Also the Conference was attended by the member of the Seminar Committee Dimitra Lagoudakis.

"It was a very interesting Conference. We had the opportunity get some good ideas to enrich and improve the program of the Greek History and Culture Seminars offered by our Community," said Mr. Markos.

Of particular interest was a lecture on engaging our youth in Modern Greek Education by Simone Mary Karanicolas. According to Dr Nikos Dallas, "her speech was very impressive" and further discussions are planned with Mrs. Karanicolas for a future program with our schools.
