Ancient Greek Beginner's level knowledge is required (students should have been taught Ancient Greek for at least 120 hours).
Course Description
Completing Athenaze Book II, this course tackles the most demanding grammar: the subjunctive and optative moods, conditional sentences, and complex syntax. While the readings shift decisively toward unadapted Greek from Herodotus, Plato, and others. You'll develop the analytical habits to work through unfamiliar passages methodically, bridging the gap between textbook Greek and the genuine article.
A 10 week Ancient Greek 5 course in term 1 (January-April ) followed by Ancient Greek 6 (10 week course in term 2: April-July), Ancient Greek 7 (10 week course in term 3: July-September), Ancient Greek 8 (10 week course in term 4: October-December).
